Antique Edwardian Diamond, Pearl & Synthetic Ruby Bar Brooch

An elegant Edwardian diamond, pearl and synthetic ruby bar brooch, set in a handmade mount of 15ct yellow gold and 999 platinum.

It's set with 10 Old European cut diamonds, 2 synthetic rubies and 3 pearls. The stones are complemented by a millegrain setting, which was very popular at the time and was made possible due to the adoption of platinum for settings. The combination of stones is very Edwardian, where the use of white gave the jewellery a light look, in keeping with the flowy, delicate fabrics that were fashionable at the time.
