Antique Diamond Toi et Moi Ring, 18ct Gold & Platinum

An antique French Toi et Moi ring, set with 2 near colourless old brilliant cut diamonds and rose cut diamonds.

This dates to around 1920 and has clearly been influenced by the preceding Art Nouveau movement which was popular in the ten or so years prior, with its sinuous lines and elegant curves. The white metal setting nods to the Art Deco era, so it really is a marriage of the 2 movements in one ring. The 2 old brilliant cut diamonds are set in platinum, and the band is made of 18ct white gold. There is some subtle millegrain detailing to the setting around the rose cuts which frames the diamonds beautifully. It would make a lovely engagement ring.
